Michelle Remond, MA, is a distinguished bilingual and bicultural communications expert with a deep commitment to fostering understanding and empowerment within immigrant communities. Born and raised in Mexico City, Michelle relocated to California in 2010, bringing with her a rich cultural heritage and a passion for education and advocacy.
Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a master’s degree in History from Universidad Iberoamericana, a renowned Jesuit university. She also completed a specialized program in International Immigration at the esteemed El Colegio de la Frontera Norte.
Currently serving as a Community Liaison for the Redwood City School District in California, Michelle is a vital bridge between Latinx parents and the U.S. school system. She collaborates with educators and administrators to enhance cultural competency and develops accessible, culturally relevant content designed to empower Latinx parents and caregivers to actively engage in their children’s education.
Michelle’s expertise extends beyond her district work. She is a proud member of the National Latinx Psychological Association, a certified grief companion, and the author of The Latinx Newcomers Interview, a comprehensive manual tailored for PreK-12 public schools. Her professional focus includes migratory grief, social integration, and educational advocacy for immigrant families.
Based in Belmont, California, Michelle is the proud mother of two adult children. Her work continues to inspire and uplift immigrant families as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of life in the United States.
